This Saturday sees the return of The Monochrome Set to The Georgian Theatre.
Doors open at 8pm and first up on the night are Teessiders Pellethead with their own brand of Punk/Post Punk/New Wave/No Wave music. Stalwarts of the local scene Pellethead never fail to impress and are well worth making the effort to get in early to see.
Main support for the evening are the fantastic Fallen Leaves. Featuring original Subway Sect guitarist Rob Symmons who’s blistering garage punk driven playing symbolises the bands ethos that a good idea played badly is better than a bad idea played well.
From the early days of Punk as The B Sides featuring some bloke called Adam Ant The Monochrome Set have been delivering original punk, post punk or just plain old fashioned pop music for well over 30 years. Never derivative the band have consistently produced quality singles and albums. Staring with the iconic single “He’s Frank” on the legendary Rough Trade label right up to the latest album “Spaces Everywhere” on the German Tapette label.
The bands live shows are a mix of old classics are tracks from the newer albums Platinum Coils, Super Plastic City and Spaces Everywhere. The band are on a creative roll at the moment with 3 new albums released in the last 3 years.
