After Pete Wylie at The Georgian the final promotion of the year is something altogether different.
The Band Of Holy Joy have been going in various forms since the mid Eighties and their music style is very eclectic. No pigeon holing this lot. Based in and around the New Cross area of London but with strong North East connections. Singer Johnny Brown is from the Newcastle area and was once a familiar face in the legendary Middlesbrough Rock Garden before ensconcing himself down to London.
The band have had a varied line up over the years but currently consist of Johny Brown – Vocals, Mark Beazley – Bass, James Stephen Finn – Guitars, mellotron, William Lewington – Drums, Peter Smith – Organ, saxophones &Inga Tillere – Artwork. The eagle eyed amongst you will have noted the Fallen Leaves connection.
Their recorded output is quite sizeable too. The latest release is the single Land Of Holy Joy which can be heard at here
