Been a bit on the quiet side of late so here’s a quick round up of what’s happening show wise. It seems a lifetime since I’ve been to a gig of any sort (It’s actually only been 3 weeks though!!!) Thankfully things start happening again next month. It goes from feast to famine but hey ho.
First gig is Secret Affair which is now SOLD OUT – thanks to everyone who’s bought tickets. The band played a couple of shows last weekend to rave reviews and I’m really looking forward to this one. Supports from The Lemondrops and Acoustic Weller as well so get down early.
The following weekend it’s my first promotion up the road at The Cluny in Newcastle with the legendary BOYS headlining. Bit of a step into the unknown promoting on foreign soil but I’m sure it’ll be fine. Cluny’s a great venue & it should be a great night. Support from The Fuckwits.
I’ll be pushing myself to the limit through the week after The Boys gig. First off it’s a flying visit to London on the Wednesday to see Kate Bush. Bit of a leap from The Boys to Kate but it’ll be fantastic, I’m really looking forward to it. The following day I have to get home from London before Spear Of Destiny turn up at The Georgian for the 7th show featuring Kirk Brandon in Stockton over the last few years in various guises. All 6 have sold out previously and this one looks like it’s heading the same way.
On the Friday it’s up to Newcastle for the first installment of Subway Sect & The Fallen Leaves at The Star & Shadow. Also on the bill are a band I’m really looking forward to seeing – The Girl With The Replaceable Head who’s song Touch Of Evil is one of those songs that sends shivers up and down my spine. Absolutely superb, be worth going just to hear that alone.
On Saturday the 4th gig in 4 days is the second part of Subway Sect & The Fallen Leaves (TGWTRH are staying back in Newcastle but they’ll be down to Stockton in November) and the wonderful Pellethead step upto the plate as replacements. And very able ones they are too!
It’ll be time for a rest after these September excursions before the fun starts again in November
